New Works Started

I’ve spent the past two weeks getting over a cough and working on my “Trail of Tears” quilt. This is a fairly large piece and in the end I had to move it from my cutting table so I could fit the first part straight on the floor with room to work on it. The piece has been on the design wall, and back to the table several times. Each time I move it I see some perspective that I need to change. While I’m thinking about the changes and shadings and such I decided to work on getting ready for the spring and summer art festivals. I started by making confetti backgrounds for fifteen new bird pieces. I have completed the confetti backgrounds and have appliquéd the leaves and branches and pulled fabric scrap colors for each bird. Now, as I have time, I will cut out all the birds and begin to thread paint them.
