English Cocker Spaniel

I finished this dog a few weeks ago, but have not had time to post. I was very disappointed at the start and struggled to get the piece to work. I had made three dimensional ears, but after all the stitching they shrunk up about two inches or more and I had to add to the top and bottom. As more details were added he began to take shape. This 12 by 12 piece took more than seven bobbins full of thread. Not sure how much more because I stopped counting. I was quite happy with the final portrait and so were the clients.
